Super 8 - American Stout
Dialing up the angst, we’ve gone full Cobain on a grungy, post-metal, American Stout. Unlike its soft-punk, Black IPA cousin, we wanted to bring the black malt grunge to the dank tones of American hops. The raw distortion of Citra, Idaho LUPO, Mosaic, Cashmere, Cascade, Sabro and Simcoe were fused to a complex malt riff of caramel, biscuit and chocolate malts. It’s gutsy, complex, bitter, stouty and hoppy.
Citrus, pine, resin and a touch of stonefruit elicit the loathsome introspection of biscuit, caramel and chocolate malts. Once discordant, now its own genre, where frustration has found a pressure release, exposing an existential dissatisfaction of the banality of it all, inextricably fused to a subconscious undertone of futility.
