Two Days In The Valley - American IPA
2013; craft beer had arrived and Brisbane was ready. Real beer, made with proper ingredients, no corners cut and focused on flavour. It was a bold move to land on an aggressively hopped, crystal and biscuit malt loaded American IPA but the reception was positive. Quickly it become the flagship, a totem of the movement, fresh IPA.
Many years and many iterations later, we've gone back to the original recipe. Cascade, Citra, Simcoe and Centennial. With a Carahell and Biscuit malt backbone, the structure is supportive of big hop additions. Bitterness is high, but may not be perceived from the viscous body. Pine, resin, and grapefruit mostly, with some subtle pineapple and stone fruit hits along the way. Big, bold and uncompromising, a journey that's come full circle.
